Bio
Originally from Connecticut, Francesca Caviglia began making music at a very early age. She grew up singing and playing the flute and once she stepped onto the theater stage she fell in love!
She earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. Graduating with departmental distinction, her classical vocal studies there brought her into her first full-length opera roles (Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro and Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte) as well as continued exploration in classical recital and musical theater work. She was a three year member of the internationally acclaimed St. Olaf Choir, serving as soprano section leader and a featured soloist on domestic and international performance tours. Ms Caviglia has studied French in the US, and Italian at the Scuola Leonardo da Vinci in Siena, IT. She studied Italian opera with La Lingua Della Lirica's program in Novafeltria, IT and was a young artist with Opera Oggi in New York City. She premiered as a resident artist with Nevada Opera in 2012, performing as a concert soloist as well as The Beggar Woman in their acclaimed production of Sweeney Todd.
Currently based in New York City, Ms Caviglia performs in everything from full-scale operatic and theatrical productions to solo cabaret shows. She is hailed for her pure, clear vocal tone, her dramatic versatility, and her magnetic stage presence. A regular soloist and cantor for religious services, Ms Caviglia's vocal offerings have been lauded as glorious and heartfelt meditations, bringing a moving sense of peace and beauty to any space.
